Prateek Singh To Assume Office As Cuttack DCP On July 20

cuttack : IPS officer Prateek Singh who was recently transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Cuttack, is to assume office on Monday (July 20). He was given a grand welcome today as outgoing DCP Akhilesvar Singh, who is to join as Superintendent of Police (SP), Puri, was bidden farewell.

Speaking about his earlier tenure as SP of Kandhamal, Prateek said that it was a great experience with the cooperation of the people. The major challenges faced were the management of General and Assembly elections, curbing Maoist menace, and organized crime in the area.

As DCP of Cuttack, Prateek said that he has to face new challenges in the city as it has a vast history and he is studying the crime scenario and COVID-19 situation in the city. The steps which are underway are good and it will be carried forward through teamwork and planned approach.

Prateek added that his first priority will be to keep the people and staff safe from COVID-19. As the Puja season is to commence from August, managing the festivals till the end of December amid coronavirus pandemic is another priority in addition to the prime responsibility of crime control.
