“Can We Direct Putin To Stop The War?” Questions CJI Ramana

A lawyer approached the Supreme Court requesting the apex court to give directions to the Government of India regarding the evacuation of Indian nationals from war torn Ukraine. However, the bench led by the Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana that the government of India is doing it’s work of evacuating Indians.

According to the news agency, ANI, CJI Ramana said, “We sympathize with the students, we are feeling very bad. But can we direct Russia’s President Putin to stop the war?”

India meanwhile has launched Operation Ganga to help evacuation of stranded Indian citizens out of Ukraine.
