Group Of Ministers Meet To Discuss COVID-19 Management

Bhubaneswar: A high-level Group of Ministers (GoM) meet has decided to step up measures to combat COVID-19 (Coronavirus) as the number of cases is on the rise.

The video conferencing being presided over by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari decided on Thursday that additional RT PCR Machines will be provided to Cuttack SCB, Burla VIMSAR and Puri’s virology centre.

The meeting also decided to provide one each RT PCR Machines to hospitals in Angul, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Kalahandi districts. These machines will be purchased from the district mineral fund, the Minister said.

The Minister said 26 labs, both in government and private sector, are engaged in testing over 6000 coronavirus tests per day and added that the number of tests could be increased by using TBI Kit.
