Water Being Discharged From 36 Gates of Hirakud Dam

Bhubaneswar: With the decrease in the inflow of water into the Hirakud dam, authorities closed four more sluice gates on Monday morning. As of now, 36 gates are open.

As per data:

  • Current inflow – 4,94,094 cusec/second
  • Outflow – 6,65,624 cusec/second
  • Water level in dam – 627.29 ft

Reportedly, 9,23,750 cusec water is flowing through Munduli.

On the other hand, Mahanadi and its tributary Paika river are reportedly flowing above the danger mark. Similarly, the water level is now at 11.14 m near Tarapur while danger is 9.80 m, 5.35 m against danger mark of 4.935 at Tirtol, the water level of Paika near Sankheswar is at 26.90 ft while danger mark is 22.75 ft.
