Ukraine Backs Out, Says No Longer Insisting For NATO Membership

Ukrainian President Zelensky clarified that he is no longer pressing NATO to present a membership to Ukraine which was one of the major reasons for Russia to start an aggressive military operation in it’s neighboring country.

“I have cooled down regarding this question a long time ago after we understood that … NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.

He also said that he does not want to be the President of a nation that has to “beg something on it’s knees.”

Russia views Ukraine joining NATO as a threat to it’s sovereignty.
