Two Lakhs Devotees Can Witness The Maha Shivaratri In Lingaraj Temple

Bhubaneswar : A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik gave a detailed presentation on the Ekamrakshetra Yojana today. The scheme is being implemented on a limited plot of land near the Lingaraj Temple. A magnificent spiritual, tranquil and devotional atmosphere is developed here around the Lingaraj Temple.

Ekamra Development Project plans to develop various facilities for tourists and pilgrims, Orientation Center, Parking, Food Plaza, Bhajan Mandap along with the restoration of heritage ponds, Kedargauri pond water drainage system. Unique craftsmanship adorned the temple, further enhancing the dignity of the historic city of Bhubaneswar and placing Bhubaneswar on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.


Steps will be taken to include Sri Lingaraj Mahaprabhu’s Mahashivratri, Ashokastami ,Ratha Yatra and Shitala Sasti in the National Calendar of Festivals, one of the cultural attractions of Ekamrakshetra and of Famous rituals of Lord Shiva.
The Chief Minister directed that the work to complete within a year. During the meeting, Minister Ashok Chandra Panda took part in the discussion and expressed his views. Senior officials including Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and Development Commissioner Shri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra were present. Along With 5T Secretary Vk Pandian Presided over this meeting.
