Telugu has risen to the 11th most spoken foreign language in the United States, according to a recent report by the Times of India (TOI). This growth makes Telugu the third most spoken Indian language in the US, following Hindi and Gujarati. The report, based on data from the US Census Bureau, highlights a significant increase in the Telugu-speaking population, which has grown from 320,000 in 2016 to 1.23 million in 2024. This nearly four-fold rise includes both fourth-generation immigrants and new arrivals, such as students.
