Tata Takes Over Air India

Air India is all set to be taken back by the Tatas after 69 years. The airline was started in 1932 as Tata Airlines before being nationalised by the then government in 1953.

Tata won the bid and is set to pay 2,700 crore cash and undertake the 15,300 crore of debt that the airline had.
The chairman of Tata and Sons met Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the official handover on Thursday.
The Air India government staff are set to resign and it will be taken over by the staff of Tata and sons.
