Railways to Operate 315 Special Trains for Rath Yatra Pilgrims

BHUBANESWAR: In preparation for the Rath Yatra, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Friday that 315 special trains will be deployed to facilitate travel to and from Puri from July 6 to July 19. This decision, made in a meeting with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida in New Delhi, marks a significant increase in train services compared to last year.Vaishnaw emphasized that these trains aim to cover all regions of the state, ensuring that pilgrims from various parts can easily visit Puri to honor the holy trinity during the festival. Additionally, accommodations for 15,000 devotees will be arranged to support the influx of visitors during the Rath Yatra.
