Puri Shankaracharya Urged SC To Review It’s Decision

Bhubaneswar : Govardhan Mutt Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati urged the Supreme Court to review its decision on stalling the Rath Yatra in Puri this year.

While he reiterated his support to the decision taken to avoid the spread of COVID-19, the Puri Shankaracharya however said that cancellation of Rath Yatra is not correct.

He added that the apex court can allow the deities of the holy siblings to get aboard the chariots. The congregation of the common public could be banned and the chariot festival could be organised with limited servitors and police force. The festival could then be telecasted live.

Shankaracharya urged the Supreme Court to review its decision to stay the Rath Yatra celebration which was passed yesterday.
