Punjab: Prime Minister’s Convoy was stuck on a flyover for near about 20 minutes while he was on his way to a rally in Ferozebad. Visuals showed the Special Protection Group surrounding the PM’s car on the bridge.

The prime minister’s convoy took a turn and cancelled the rally he was to address after protesting farmers had blocked the route.

The Home Ministry in a statement said, “The PM was stuck on a flyover for 15-20 minutes. This was a major lapse in the security of PM.”

After returning to the Bhatinda airport, Prime Minister Modi said to the officials, “Apne CM ko thanks kehna ki mein Bhatinda airport tak zinda laut paaya.”

Chief Minister Channi while defending his stand said, “As a Punjabi, I would die to protect you…but there was no danger to his life. There was no security breach. We have every respect for our Prime Minister.”
