Pipli by-poll election results: The Maharathy spree continues

Rudra Pratap Maharathy taking over the legacy of his late father wins in the Pipli by-elections defeating the Bhartiya Janata Party contestant Ashrit Pattanayak. Maharathy won with a margin of 20,916 votes. 

Ashrit Pattanayak got about 76056 votes which is a level up for the Bhartiya Janata Party. Coincidentally, today is the one year anniversary of late Pradeep Maharathy who lost his life to post Covid complications. 

The INC candidate, Biswokeshan Harichandan Mohapatra scored only  4261 votes. 

The Chief Minster and the founder of the Biju Janata Dal put out a tweet congratulating Rudra Maharathy.

The voter turnout at the Pipli elections were the around 78.25% and one of the highest till date. Almost 2 lakhs 30 thousand people voted and Maharathy won with 96972 votes.
