Odisha Tops Country In AMRUT Implementation

Bhubaneswar : Odisha has secured the top rank in the country in the effective implementation of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme this year, said an all-India ranking released by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The state, which was earlier ranked third, moved to the second position in 2018, achieved rank one in 2019, and maintained it this year.

Out of the contracts worth Rs 1704.39 crore awarded to Odisha under the scheme, it has completed projects of Rs 1025.56 crore.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the Housing & Urban Development Department for the achievement. Building durable urban infrastructure and amenities is a priority to make cities economically vibrant, sustainable, cleaner, smarter and livable, he said.
