The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional center in Bhubaneswar has announced that Odisha is expected to face another heat spell beginning Tuesday. According to the latest forecast, daytime temperatures are projected to rise by 3°C to 5°C over the next three to four days.

In a post on its X handle, the IMD stated, “The maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to rise by 3°C-5°C during the next 3 to 4 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.” Despite the increase in temperatures, heatwave conditions are not anticipated to return in the near future.

Simultaneously, some regions in Odisha are forecasted to receive scattered light to moderate rainfall along with thundershowers during this period. Areas including Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada are likely to experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers, while the remaining districts are expected to remain dry on Tuesday. On Wednesday, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely in Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Bargarh, with dry weather prevailing in the rest of the state, as per the IMD forecast.

Additionally, several areas in Odisha have recently received moderate rainfall due to the effects of Severe Cyclone ‘Remal’.
