Odisha govt starts air-lifting stranded Odias from North East region

Bhubaneswar: Due to lockdown in the entire country in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Odisha Government has undertaken a mission to safely bring back all the migrant workers stranded in different parts of the country. The government decided that people stranded in remote parts from where Rail Services are not available and also travelling on road is not possible, will be evacuated by Air.

In this regard more than 300 persons from Odisha stranded in Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam were brought / will be brought by Air Asia Flight to Bhubaneswar.

Flight carrying migrant workers from Manipur landed at Bhubaneswar Airport at 2.30 P.M. today.  Another flight carrying migrant workers from Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya will arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport today late in the evening carrying 138 migrant workers stranded in Tinsukia, Silchar, Dimapur, Kamarup and Siva Sagar districts of Assam and also in Meghalaya
