OAS Candidates To Be Given Online Training

Bhubaneswar : The candidates selected in Odisha Civil Service Examination of 2018 will be provided online training, was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Monday, in view of the restrictions on public movement and norms of ‘social distancing’ for the ongoing fight against the pandemic.

Tripathy reviewed the preparedness and infrastructural logistics for online training in different state-level training imparting institutes like Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, Madhusudan Institute of Cooperative Management and Revenue Officers Training Institute (ROTI).

He asked directors of all these institutes to jointly workout online teaching-learning training contents along with evaluation modules. Tripathy directed to prepare the best qualitative content for effective motivation building and capacity enhancement of the new entrants to Public Service. It was targeted to start the online training course from August 4, 2020, after completion of the ongoing training of the previous batch.

Principal Secretary of Revenue & Disaster Management, Bishnupada Sethi, appraised that as per OPSC list, around 60 candidates were selected for OAS, 61 were selected for ORS, 15 were selected for OPS, 31 selected for OT & AS, 6 selected for ARCS and 16 were selected for OES for the year 2018. They would be provided training in the Academy/Training Institute pertaining to the service against which they were selected.

Home Secretary Sanjeev Chopra, Finance Secretary Ashok Kumar Meena, Director of Gopabandhu Academy of Administration Ranjana Chopra, IT Secretary Manoj Singh, Skill Development Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, Cooperation Secretary Vir Vikram Yadav along with senior officers of respective departments participated in the meeting.
