Narendra Modi’s Historic Third Oath-Taking Ceremony Today

Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for a third consecutive term at 7:15 pm today, a historic event as he becomes the first leader since Jawaharlal Nehru to achieve this feat after completing full tenures. President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office to Modi and his Council of Ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan.Key members anticipated to join the Council of Ministers include BJP leaders JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, and Jyotiraditya Scindia. In a significant move, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala has been dropped from the Cabinet. Other expected appointees are HD Kumaraswamy (JD(S)), Chirag Paswan (LJP), Ram Nath Thakur (JD(U)), and Jitan Ram Manji (HAM). Representatives from RLD, Apna Dal (Soneylal), TDP, and Shiv Sena are also likely to be inducted.Ahead of the ceremony, all prospective ministers attended a tea programme at the PM’s residence in New Delhi at 11:30 am. The event will see extensive security with around 1,100 Delhi Police traffic personnel deployed and specific traffic advisories issued.The ceremony will be attended by over 8,000 guests, including various professionals, cultural performers, and more than 250 workers who contributed to the construction of the Parliament. Foreign dignitaries, such as the Prime Ministers of Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka, along with the President of Maldives and the Vice-President of Seychelles, will also be in attendance.
