Narendra Modi Sworn in for Third Term, Matching Nehru’s Record

Share the news

Narendra Modi, at age 73, was sworn in for his third consecutive term as India’s Prime Minister at a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. This achievement places him alongside Jawaharlal Nehru, who also served three consecutive terms as the nation’s first Prime Minister. Alongside Modi, 72 ministers took their oaths, including 11 from NDA allies. This term marks a significant change, as Modi’s BJP will be sharing power for the first time due to the loss of its outright majority in the Lok Sabha following a highly contested election.
