Modi Government’s Budget Priorities: Jobs, MSMEs, and Middle-Class Support

Share the news

New Delhi: The Modi government’s first budget in its third term is expected to focus on job creation by extending the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to sectors such as furniture, toys, footwear, and additional segments of textiles. Aiming to boost income levels for women and enhance infrastructure, the budget will also prioritize micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The finance ministry is considering benefits for the middle class, which may include measures beyond tax concessions, such as interest rate subsidies for housing loans. These initiatives align with the government’s 100-day agenda and long-term goals for 2030. Detailed consultations are yet to commence, but these initial priorities reflect the recent election outcomes.
