IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Heavy Rainfall During Odisha Rath Yatra

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for several districts in Odisha, predicting heavy rainfall over the coming days. Some districts are expected to experience intense spells on Rath Yatra day, July 7, 2024.

IMD reported today that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab, marking its complete coverage over the entire country ahead of schedule. This advancement occurred six days earlier than the normal date of July 8.
