Heavy Rains hit Twin city, Incessant downpour to continue for three days.

As predicted by the Meteorological Department, heavy rains lashed the twin cities on Sunday, ruining the Sunday mood for the residents. As people looked forward to move out after almost three months of weekend shutdowns owing to the Covid situation in the state, incessant downpour since Saturday night have led to flood like situation in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. 

Roads vanish and vehicles go invisible after the heavy downpour in the twin cities. Water logging situation takes a serious turn as rain water gets collected making it difficult for the citizens to commute in and around the city. 

The low pressure situation is intensifying in the Bay of Bengal that has led to heavy rains hitting the cities and is likely to continue for the next 72 hours. 

The meteorological department has issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Bhadrak and Jajpur on Sunday.

The low-pressure is likely move north-westwards and concentrate into a depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal.
