Governer has Extended the Tenure of Six (VCs) for 3 Months

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and the Chancellor of the state Universities Ganeshi Lal has extended the tenure of six Vice-Chancellors (VCs) for a period of three months from the date of completion of their respective tenure or till the joining of the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor.

The Chancellor of the state Universities has extended the tenure of– Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur, Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, North Odisha University in Baripada, Utkal University, Khalikote University in Berhampur and Rama Devi University.

“In view of the rare and extraordinary situation prevailing in the state as well as in the whole country due to the menace of COVID-19 pandemic and keeping in view the fact that the tenure of the Vice-Chancellors of the certain State Universities are going to be completed and whereas in this connection the Government in Higher Education Department has recommended to the Chancellor for extension of the tenure of such Vice-Chancellors,” read a notification issued by the office of the Chancellor.
