The Bhadrak Police has nabbed two accused in connection with the sensational Manas Swain murder case. The accused have been identified as Niranjan Sethi, a retired OIS Officer who also served as the director of the I&PR Department. the second accused has been identified as Ranjan Nayak.
The presence of Nirajan Sethi during the abduction has not been confirmed yet, however his direct involvement in the crime is certain as informed by police officials.
Sharmishta Rout, owner of the fortnightly magazine and web portal, Sampurna News is alleged to be the master mind behind the murder is yet to be found. The magazine was empaneled by the I&PR Department while Niranjan Sethi was the Director thus making it eligible for government advertisements.
As per reports, the dispute was regarding a memory chip following which Manas was brutally assaulted and tortured and his body was disposed in Nayagarh.
