Facilitate Return of migrants, provide jobs: SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed Centre and states to make arrangement for return of migrant workers to their native places immediately.

The apex court has also directed to consider the withdrawal of complaints against the migrant workers for alleged violation of lockdown norms.

It has directed the governments to facilitate the return of migrant workers within a fortnight from today.

The highest court of the land has also asked the Centre to provide additional trains for transportation of migrant workers within 24 hours.

The states and Union territories have also been directed to formulate a scheme for providing employment to migrant workers as they have lost employment during the ongoing nationwide lockdown due to outbreak of coronavirus.
