Every citizen as a soldier is fighting this war: Says PM Modi

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his radio programme ‘MannKiBaat.

👉India’s fight against Coronavirus is people-driven. This fight is being fought by the people and the administration together. Every citizen as a soldier is fighting this war.

👉Our farmers they are toiling hard in agricultural field and ensuring that nobody sleeps hungry in the country. People across the country are helping others in every possible way.

👉In the middle of this pandemic, the farmers are ensuring that no one sleeps hungry in our country. Each person is fighting this war as per their capacity. Some are waiving off house rent, also some labourers who are in quarantine at a school are whitewashing the school etc.

👉People are rising to the occasion to help each other. We are all in this together. Every citizen is a soldier in this fight against COVID19 & the enthusiasm with which people have taken up the battle has provided the impetus to the country in the fight.

👉I thank State governments as they are playing crucial role in fighting Coronavirus. The hardwork of doctors, nurses, administration and others is commendable.

👉There has been a change in the mindset of people towards sanitary workers, police as they are playing a crucial role in FightAgainstCorona. Citizens are now connecting with police and such things can bring a positive change in the society.

👉It is a pleasant coincidence that today when I am talking to you, it is also the festival of AkshayaTritiya.Kshaya means decay, but what can’t be destroyed is Akshaya. During these tough times, this festival reminds us that our soul & feelings are Akshaya.

👉We must not take Coronavirus lightly. We should ensure that there are no lapses in maintaining SocialDistancing norms which is key to fight COVID19.

👉Masks will now become inseparable part of our lives. I urge people to use ‘Gamcha’ to cover faces. Happy that people have now realised the consequences of spitting in public places. Such practices will help to prevent the spread of coronavirus

👉Aviation & railway workers are working hard to ensure delivery of essentials among citizens amidst the crisis. A special campaign ‘LIFELINE UDAN’ has been carried out in order to ensure supply of medicines across the country during this COVID lockdown.

👉India has taken some steps based on core values and helped other countries by supplying medicines in such crucial times. People in other countries are now turning to Yoga and Ayurveda to boost immunity
