Desecration of Mahatma Gandhi statue is a ‘crime against humanity’

New Delhi: India has condemned desecration of Mahatma Gandhi statue during the ongoing protests against the death of George Floyd in US.

India has described the occurrence as ‘crime against humanity’. The incident has occurred at  Washington DC.

The incident was immediately reported it to the US State Department and a case was registered with the Metropolitan Police and Park police.

India’s Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that both the leaders are in regular touch while senior officials of both the governments have been talking to each other.

He said on Tuesday that both India and the US are in touch with each other about the G7 Summit and working out to finalise the exact dates.
