Cyclone AMPHAN likely to intensify further into a Super Cyclonic Storm: IMD

Bhubaneswar : Very severe Cyclone Amphan over central parts of south Bay of Bengal intensifies into extremely severe cyclonic storm; it lies about 790 km away from south of Paradip (Odisha), 940 km south-southwest of Digha (West Bengal) & 1060 km south-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh): IMD.

Forecasted wind speed of Cyclone Amphan during landfall increases! It is likely to cross between Digha (West Bengal) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) during the afternoon/evening of 20th May with maximum sustained wind speed of 155-165 kmph gusting to 185 kmph.
