CM Majhi to Resume Public Grievance Hearings in Bhubaneswar

Starting tomorrow, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will begin addressing public grievances at his official residence in Unit-V, Bhubaneswar. This initiative marks the resumption of a practice that had been discontinued since 2008. CM Majhi will hold these grievance hearings every Monday.

The grievance sessions will start at 11 AM, with registration open from 9 AM to 12 PM, according to Surendra Kumar, ACS of the General Administration and Public Grievance. Public access to the Grievance Cell will be facilitated through two entry points, with exits available at both locations.

Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth experience for the public, including parking, seating, drinking water, toilets, ambulance and fire services, space for journalists, a waiting hall, and a medical unit. Special provisions have also been made for persons with disabilities.

Grievances must be registered in writing and submitted for redressal at the cell.

The last time a Chief Minister attended the grievance cell was on August 16, 2008, by former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who had addressed public concerns on 76 occasions over his 24-year tenure. The grievance cell had continued operations until the Covid-19 pandemic and was briefly closed in 2019 due to a heatwave, resuming on July 1 of that year.
