Earlier on Saturday, Chilika MLA Prasant Jagdev rammed his car into locals and police officials leaving almost 22 people seriously injured. The incident occurred in front of the block office in Banpur.
Enraged locals thrashed him and destroyed his vehicle. However, according to IG Narendra Bhol the MLA is under police custody and attempt to murder along with other charges have been slapped against him. He will be arrested after recovering.
