Change in Swearing-In Ceremony for New Odisha Chief Minister Announced

Bhubaneswar: In a significant update, the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Odisha Chief Minister from the BJP will now take place on June 12, 2024, instead of the previously scheduled June 10. The BJP legislative party meeting, initially set for June 10, is also likely to be rescheduled to June 11.BJP spokesperson Jatin Mohanty stated that the change is due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to attend crucial meetings on Monday and similar events in two other states. The ceremony, to be held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, will now accommodate the Prime Minister’s schedule.Following the BJP’s triumph in Odisha, where the party secured 20 of 21 Lok Sabha seats and 78 of 147 assembly seats, PM Modi plans to express his gratitude with a mega roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. This victory ends the 24-year reign of Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal.The BJP parliamentary party is expected to select the new Odisha Chief Minister after Narendra Modi is sworn in for his third term as the country’s Prime Minister. Although there is much speculation about the new CM, prominent names include Jual Oram, Suresh Pujari, and Mohan Majhi.
