The assurance came during a videoconferencing by the Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba with Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and other senior government officials.

On his part, Tripathy informed Gauba that the evacuation of people from vulnerable areas in 12 coastal districts will be completed by Tuesday evening.

He also said that the necessary manpower and equipment were moved to these districts for immediate restoration of road connectivity, power supply and resumption of drinking water supply after the cyclone passes the state coast.
