BMC urges banks to provide doorstep service to senior citizens

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has urged banks to provide doorstep service to senior citizens in view of coronavirus pandemic.

Commissioner of BMC, in a letter to all banks, has requested that doorstep service should be given to elderly persons in the city in order to dissuade them from stepping out of the home during this juncture.

The BMC has urged the banking personnel to orient the elderly persons about mobile and net banking by personally visiting their homes.

The letter said elderly persons above the age of 60 are vulnerable to dreaded coronavirus and urged the banking authorities to help fight COVID-19 by allowing them to stay inside homes.
