‘Bande Utkala Janani’ gets State anthem status

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet on Sunday accorded state anthem status to the patriotic song ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ penned by poet Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh informed that, “The song has been inspiring people of Odisha since ages. It was a long standing demand of people of the State to accord state song status to Bande Utkala Janani which has been passed by the State cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.”
