21 Year Old Damyanti Is The Deputy Mayor Of CMC

On the same day as newly elected Subhash Singh took his oath as the new mayor of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation, Damyanti Majhi won the post of Deputy Mayor uncontested. She secured her seat after the opposition staged a walkout protesting the manner of the elections.

Majhi is 21 year old and is pursuing her Masters in Commerce from Ravenshaw University. A resident of the Balisahi, Jagatpur, Majhi will be the youngest Deputy Mayor of CMC. She won as a corporator from Ward 49 of CMC.
