14-Year Old KBC Winner Now IPS Officer

Ahmedabad: Ravi Mohan Saini, the 14-year old boy who had won Rs 1 crore in the junior contest of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2001 took charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Porbandar on Tuesday.

Mohan (33), a resident of Alwar in Rajasthan completed his MBBS before cracking the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination. He later became an IPS officer of Gujarat cadre in 2014.

“My father was in the Navy and I joined the police force after being inspired by him,” Saini told The Indian Express.

Earlier, he was Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1 in Rajkot city.

In his new role as SP, Saini will ensure the law and order situation in Porbandar during the lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19.
