Share the news

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has clarified the status of constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped actress-turned-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport last month. Contrary to earlier reports, CISF stated on Wednesday that Kulwinder Kaur remains suspended, and a departmental inquiry into the incident is currently underway.

The incident occurred on June 6 when Kangana Ranaut was traveling to New Delhi. Kulwinder Kaur, on duty at the airport, reportedly slapped Kangana due to disagreements over comments made by the actress regarding Punjab women during the farmers’ agitation against the farm laws. Kangana’s remarks had stirred controversy as she suggested that some women participated in protests for financial gain.

Initial reports suggested that Kulwinder Kaur had been transferred and ‘reinstated’ in Bengaluru. However, CISF clarified that she remains suspended pending the outcome of the inquiry. The incident has highlighted tensions surrounding public figures’ statements amidst ongoing social and political debates.

The CISF’s clarification aims to address misconceptions surrounding Kulwinder Kaur’s current status following the incident involving Kangana Ranaut. The department continues to investigate the matter to determine appropriate disciplinary actions.

The story underscores the complexities involved in managing public interactions and reactions in the context of sensitive political and social issues.
