Roof Collapse at Delhi Airport’s Terminal-1 Injures Six Amid Heavy Rain

In the early hours of Friday, a portion of the roof at Terminal-1 of Delhi Airport collapsed during heavy rainfall, injuring six people. The collapse affected not only the roof sheet but also the support beams, causing significant damage to cars, including taxis, parked in the pick-up and drop-off area.The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a call about the incident around 5:30 am and promptly dispatched three fire tenders to the scene. Rescue operations are ongoing to ensure no one else is trapped in the damaged vehicles. The injured individuals have been hospitalized for treatment, with one person being rescued from a car after an iron beam fell on it.Flight departures at Terminal-1 have been suspended following the incident. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu posted on X, confirming that first responders are at the site and advising airlines to assist affected passengers.
