Share the news

Today, Odisha is experiencing heavy rainfall across multiple districts, leading to flood warnings and widespread disruptions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several regions, including coastal and interior districts, predicting continued downpours for the next 24 hours.

The incessant rain has resulted in waterlogging in urban areas, significantly affecting normal life. Bhubaneswar, the state capital, has seen major roads submerged, causing traffic snarls and delays. Schools and colleges in affected districts have been closed as a precautionary measure.

Rural areas are also facing the brunt of the weather, with rivers like Mahanadi and Brahmani swelling close to danger marks. The state government has activated disaster response teams and is closely monitoring the situation to ensure timely evacuation and aid.

Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travel. Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea due to rough conditions.

With more rain forecasted, Odisha’s emergency services are on high alert, ready to tackle any arising challenges. Authorities are urging the public to stay updated through official channels and adhere to safety advisories to minimize risks.
