The auspicious bathing festival called as Deva Snana Purnima is observed on Purnima(full moon day), Jyestha month according to the Hindu Calendar.

The deities are taken in ritual procession called Pahandi to the Snana Bedi for the ceremonial bath with 108 pots of water.

After the completion of bathing, the deities are dressed up in ‘Sadha Besha’ and later ‘Hathi Besha’ (form of lord ganesha)

It is traditionally believed after the Snana Yatra the deities fall ill and retire to ‘Anasar House’and then appear to their devotees only 15 days after, that is the day just before the famous Rath Yatra.
