Multiple farmer unions have announced a protest rally, the “Insaaf March,” in support of CISF Constable Kulwinder Kaur, who is accused of slapping BJP MP-elect Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport. The rally is set for June 9 in Mohali, Punjab. The unions are demanding a thorough investigation and ensuring no undue action is taken against Kaur.
Jagjit Singh Dallewal, addressing a press conference, emphasized the need for a fair inquiry, stating the march to the Senior Superintendent of Police’s office in Mohali aims to highlight their demands. Kaur’s brother, Sher Singh, a prominent farmer leader and secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, is also involved in organizing the protest.
The incident reportedly occurred during a security check when Kaur reacted to Ranaut’s controversial remarks about Punjabi women involved in the farmers’ protest, taking personal offense as her mother was among the protesters.
