Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan takes charge as the chairman of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Executive Board.
Union Health Minister Harsha Vardhan becomes the executive chairman of the World Health Organization. Elections will be held on the 22nd of this month. The South Asian group agreed to join India on the Executive Board and based on that decision the Health Minister decided to be part of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Chairman’s term is given one year and the remaining two years for the other members of the South Asian Group. As Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus term expires in next May, Harsha will be part of the selection process of the next director-general for World Health Organisation (WHO).
