Ramcharitmanas, Panchatantra, and Sahṛdayāloka-Locana from India have earned prestigious spots in the 2024 cycle of UNESCO’s Memory of the World Asia-Pacific Regional Register. This recognition is a testament to their significant cultural and literary contributions. The Memory of the World Asia Pacific Committee, which celebrates achievements across various domains like genealogy, literature, and science, made the decision to include these invaluable works during its 10th General Meeting held on May 7th and 8th in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Hosted by the Mongolian government’s Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and the Bangkok Regional Office of UNESCO, the meeting brought together 38 representatives from member states, along with 40 observers and nominees. This inclusion highlights the enduring relevance and universal appeal of these timeless literary treasures, ensuring their preservation and recognition on a global scale.
