Bhubaneswar : Three tier security arrangements will be put in place for the smooth conduct of the upcoming NEET (UG) & JEE (Main) examinations in Bhubaneswar.
The decision was taken in a joint coordination meeting held at the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office here today which was attended by BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury, Khordha Collector Sanat Mohanty, SP Ajay Pratap Swain, Bhubaneswar ITI principal Jitamitra Satpathy, transport department officials and other senior government officials.
Special police personnel will be deployed in and outside the six examination centres in the city and management of traffic for buses ferrying the students to the centres, informed Khordha SP Ajay Pratap Swain. He said there will be no restrictions on movement of buses from various districts.
Khordha Collector Sanat Mohanty said discussion was held with the auto-rickshaw and cab unions for deployment of vehicles outside the examination centres to ensure that examinees will not face any difficulties to travel to the centres.
Bhubaneswar ITI principal Jitamitra Satpathy said, “Eight places have been set up for accommodation of students. Special Covid observers will be appointed for each centre and they will be given various responsibilities for smooth management of the centres.”
Arrangements have been made for 16,000 students who will appear for the examinations in Bhubaneswar at six centres. Mobile teams, police teams, sanitising arrangements will be in place at all the centres. Tagging and housing arrangements have been made for the candidates. Issues related to health and examination of the students will be addressed, said BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury.
“Awareness will be created to avoid crowd outside the examination centres. The sanitation workers of BMC look after cleaning works at the accommodation centres,”he added.
