In Bhubaneswar, the daytime temperatures dipped a bit in some parts of Odisha due to the influence of a weather phenomenon known as kalbaisakhi on Monday. However, the heatwave continued to scorch several areas in western Odisha.
The local branch of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar predicts increased rainfall across Odisha starting from Tuesday. They’ve issued orange and yellow alerts for rainfall over the next week.
Today, the weather office has issued warnings for thunderstorms and lightning in various districts of Odisha. There’s an orange warning for severe weather in five districts and a yellow warning in 14 districts. These storms could bring heavy rain and strong winds to several areas.
Fishermen are advised to stay ashore in the northern coastal regions due to the rough sea conditions.
