The continuous downpour caused severe inundation, affecting residents trying to access the railway station and bus stands situated in the city center. The IMD has issued an ‘orange’ alert for five districts in Kerala, anticipating heavy to very heavy rainfall. The normal onset date for the monsoon in Kerala is June 1, and this year’s forecast aligns closely with that timeline.
