The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced favorable conditions for the advancement of the Southwest Monsoon into additional regions of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and parts of Gangetic West Bengal over the next 4 to 5 days.Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are predicted to persist in Bargarh, Sundargarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, and Keonjhar within the next 24 hours. Coastal districts will continue to experience hot and humid weather. However, increased rainfall activity is expected from June 17, according to Manorama Mohanty, director of IMD’s Bhubaneswar center.
