The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar announced today that the southwest monsoon has progressed further, now reaching 24 districts in Odisha.
The districts anticipated to receive rainfall due to the advancing monsoon include Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Deogarh.
Additionally, the monsoon has extended into more areas of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balasore, as well as parts of Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj districts, according to the Meteorological Department’s release.
The current Northern Limit of the Monsoon stretches through Naysari, Jalgaon, Mandla, Pendra Road, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj, and Raxaul.
The conditions are favorable for the further advancement of the southwest monsoon into additional regions, including the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, the remaining parts of Maharashtra, more areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand, as stated in the release.
