Bhubaneswar : The meeting between Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and steel tycoon LN Mittal today rekindled the hope about the upsurge of industrialisation in Odisha.
The meeting took place between the two through video conferencing at a time when the state is witnessing growing unemployment problem following return of large scale migrant labourers from various advanced states due to coronavirus pandemic.
Arcelor Mittal along with Nippon Steel will invest Rs 2,000 crore in the first phase in Odisha by expanding the pellet plant at Paradip from 6 MTPA to 12 MTPA and Beneficiation plant at Dabuna in Keonjhar from 5 MTPA to 16 MTPA, said an official release issued by the CM’s office.
During the discussion CM Naveen Patnaik stressed on value addition of mineral resources produced in Odisha.
