Relief From Heatwave in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha From June 1: IMD.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Friday that heatwave conditions in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha are expected to ease from June 1. IMD Scientist Soma Sen told ANI that thunderstorms are likely to increase, leading to a reduction in heatwave conditions. She noted significant casualties in these states over the past 24 hours due to the extreme heat.An orange alert for heatwaves remains in place for Punjab, Haryana, and Odisha, while other affected states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh will shift to a yellow alert starting tomorrow as the heatwave conditions are anticipated to lessen slightly.Sen also mentioned that the Southwest Monsoon has begun in South Peninsular and Northeastern India, with an earlier onset than usual, hitting Kerala and parts of northeast India by Thursday. Kerala has already experienced widespread pre-monsoon rains.
