President Droupadi Murmu addressed a joint session of both Houses of Parliament, marking significant achievements and outlining the government’s future plans. Accompanied by a Parliament official carrying the Sengol, she detailed the government’s support to farmers, including the disbursement of Rs 3.20 lakh crore under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and a substantial increase in the MSP for Kharif crops. Emphasizing India’s evolving agricultural system, she noted the rising global demand for organic products and the government’s efforts to integrate natural farming into the supply chain.She highlighted the global recognition of International Millet Day and International Yoga Day, initiated by India. Murmu asserted that the Indian populace trusts the Modi government to fulfill their aspirations, anticipating a stable government in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, driven by decisive policy-making. She previewed the forthcoming budget, promising historic social and economic policies and accelerated reforms. Underlining India’s growth to the world’s fifth-largest economy, she credited the nation’s success to policies implemented over the past decade, aiming to elevate India to the world’s third-largest economy despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
